5 Signs You Need a New Bra

Truth Time! What is the oldest bra that you own?

Check out these 5 Signs You Need a New Bra:

1. Your band isn't snug anymore

Up to 80% of your bra's support is provided by the band. If your band is loose, tends to move or shift around throughout the day, and you can comfortably wear it on the tightest hook, it's time for a new bra!

Fit Tip: You should be able to fit only two fingers between your back and the band of your bra. If there is more space, your band is too big!

2. The molded cups have lost their shape

Are your molded cups looking a little bit lifeless? Molded, or foam cup, bras will lose their shape over time. If your foam-cup bra is bumpy, has lots its original shape, or your breasts tend to settle into the bottom of the cups throughout the day, it's time for a new bra!

Fit Tip: Try a soft-cup bra without foam to get optimal support.

3. You've lost or gained weight

Our weight fluctuates as we go through the seasons of life, and so does our bra size. Puberty, pregnancy, varying activity levels, menopause, various medications and many other reasons can cause your weight to fluctuate. If your weight has fluctuated 10+ pounds since your last bra fitting, it's time for another fitting.

Fit Tip: Breast density also changes with age and weight loss/gain. We recommend getting fitted every 12 months to ensure your bra size and style are still suiting your unique body.

4. You're feeling a little droopy

If you are adjusting your straps to try to get more lift from your bra, it's time for a new bra!

Fit Tip: 80% of your support is provided by the bra band, so adjusting your straps to compensate for a loose band will only cause your band to ride up your back and may cause shoulder and back tension.

5. Lift up, way up!

If your bra moves up when you move around or lift your arms, it's time for a new bra!

Fit Tip: Your underwires should sit right underneath your breast tissue and the band should sit horizontal all the way around. Your bra should sit securely throughout the day, even when exercising or doing high impact activity.

If you can relate to any of these 5 Signs, it is time for a new bra or a bra fitting!

How many bras do I need?

We recommend having at least 3 bras in your wardrobe.

A quality bra that fits well can last years, if you take care of it. Rotating the bras you wear daily, hand washing in cool water, and always hanging to dry will help to extend the life of your bras.
